About Shaanxi University of Technology

Shaanxi University of Technology is located in Hanzhong, a charming city with world characteristics, a national historical and cultural city, and an excellent tourist city in China. It is one of the first universities in the country with the right to award a bachelor's degree and has a long history of running schools. In 1958, in order to solve the basic education teachers and other urgently needed talents in southern Shaanxi, Hanzhong University was established. In 1978, it was renamed as Hanzhong Normal University; in 1965, to meet the strategic needs of third-line construction, Peking University Hanzhong Branch was established in Hanzhong. After the withdrawal of Peking University in 1978 , Shaanxi Institute of Technology was established on the original site; in 2001, Hanzhong Normal University and Shaanxi Institute of Technology merged to form Shaanxi Institute of Technology; in 2016, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Shaanxi Institute of Technology was renamed Shaanxi University of Technology. In 2019, the school achieved a batch of undergraduate enrollment in Shaanxi Province.

The school currently has three campuses, with a total area of 1.613 million square meters and a building area of 688,900 square meters. There are now 17 colleges and 2 teaching and experimental training centers. With 62 undergraduate majors, the school has a total of more than 20,000 full-time students.
